Independence Day, 4th of July, is on a Wednesday this year.

If you’re wanting beads to fill some of your Holiday time, we encourage you to shop today through this Saturday, June 30th. There are some great restocks in stone beads with blue goldstone and brown goldstone, tourmalinated quartz, rose quartz, rectangle coin freshwater pearls in creamy colors, and stone pendants in unakite, rose quartz, new jade, snowflake jade, black stone and others.

Ohio Beads and Gems will be close at 2:30 P.M. Tuesday, July 3rd, and be closed Wednesday, July 4th in celebration of our country’s independence.

We will reopen on Thursday, July 5 with a Trunk Show highlighting Thai Marcasite beads and findings, Venetian Glass (The Italians still do the best glass beads!) and gemstone toggles (plus who knows what else). More details will be posted separately.

I know what you’re all thinking…Beadstore owners have lots of time to touch beads, design, change designs, and swirl our fingers through trays of assorted beads. Sounds positively idyllic! Wish it were true. Just for fun I thought I would post these pictures of the highly anticipated arrival of 24 gauge headpins plated in gunmetal and copper ox. It looks like the bead fairy that leaves beads at the foot of our bed every night forgot to package these headpins in nice, neat zip bags.

How many headpins do you think are in these nesty bricks? More importantly, how long will it take to count these out into 20 and 100 piece packages?
